Philodendron Giganteum Variegated Phytosanitary
Looking for a Philodendron Giganteum Variegated Phytosanitary? Look no further!
The Philodendron giganteum variegated Phytosanitary is the perfect houseplant for you if you’re looking to add a splash of color to your space. It’s particularly beautiful in the winter when it’s not blooming. Here are five ways you can incorporate this gorgeous plant into your home or office without breaking the bank!
What is a phytosanitary certificate?
A phytosanitary certificate is an internationally recognized document from a government agency that states that certain plants and plant products are free of any pests and diseases. A phytosanitary certificate must be issued before plants can legally be moved across international borders. In order to obtain one, you will need to contact your local agricultural authority as well as all international agencies from which you intend to import or export plants. For example, if you live in Canada and want to buy a philodendron giganteum variegated from Australia, you would have to contact both Australian authorities as well as Canadian authorities in order to get a valid phytosanitary certificate. The process can take several weeks and may cost upwards of $500 depending on where you’re shipping from and to. If you’re buying multiple plants, these costs can add up quickly. The good news is that most countries don’t require phytosanitary certificates for seeds; however, they do usually require a certificate when importing cut flowers.
Why does your Philodendron require this certificate?
The variegated giganteum is a very popular plant and many people have claimed to be growing it. Unfortunately, most of these claims are false because most of these plants are not true variegated giganteums. When people ship these plants around, they often get infested with pests and diseases which can cause considerable damage to the ecosystem in different parts of your house. These pests include spider mites, mealy bugs, scale insects and aphids. For that reason, you need to ensure that your phytosanitary certificate has been issued by an accredited inspector. The best way to do that is to buy from a reputable nursery or grower who knows how to care for their plants properly. This will help keep pests at bay and prevent them from spreading throughout your home.
What is covered by the certificate when buying giganteum philodendron?

When should I get giganteum philodendron inspected and when will it arrive to me after inspection?
When purchasing plants from out of country (specifically when you live in CA) there is an inspection process that happens. The plant will be inspected first by your state’s Department of Agriculture, then they’ll send their report to the Plant Protection and Quarantine Division of APHIS (U.S. Department of Agriculture). This process can take anywhere from 10 days up to 3 weeks, so keep that in mind if you have an event coming up where you want to give your plant as a gift. After your plant has been inspected it will be shipped back to us, we’ll inspect it again before shipping it off to you. If you would like more information on how these inspections work please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are happy to help!

If I buy more than one plant, will they ship together?: We try to group plants together when possible so they don’t spend too much time in transit. We may ship orders separately depending on what else is going on at the nursery and how many other orders we have at any given time. However, if you live in Southern California and would like to visit our nursery during business hours, just let us know by adding Local Pickup to your order notes! Can I add something special for my plant once it arrives?: Once your plant has been delivered and inspected by our team, all sales are final unless otherwise noted.

Is there anything else we should know about buying plants online in general or specifically buying this particular variety of plant we see advertised here on your site today?
In terms of buying plants online, you have to know what to look out for. If a price is too good to be true, it probably is. And if you’re not sure about what you’re buying, don’t risk losing your money and trust that an internet seller will do right by you. I would highly recommend only buying from sites that are certified sellers of these types of plants. It’s always better to be safe than sorry when dealing with something as delicate as live plants, so I would stick with a site like ours where we offer free shipping on all orders over $50 and our customer service team can help you with any questions or concerns you might have before or after your purchase. Thanks again for visiting our site today! We hope to hear from you soon.
